I've been holding links these last few days and haven't had the time to post so right now I'm going to post the few that I've hoarded. The first is the Imaginarium in Barcelona by SAKO Architects. The fantastical use of color and curved shapes is really brightening. (Images from ArchiCentral.com)
Hussein Chalayan is terrific. In one of his fashion shows, the models step onstage, where chairs and a coffee table are present. They remove the chair covers, which become dresses, and put on the dresses. The chairs fold into suitcases. Then another model comes onstage and pulls the coffee table into a dress. This show explores the plight of the refugee, where all that the refugees can literally take is the clothes on their backs.
His latest collection is equally amazing. It's titled "Inertia." (Images from HusseinChalayan.com)
I love this use of color in the Farrar Residence by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson. (Images from Contemporist.com) The pool is also amazing. I like how it goes right up to the edge of the window.
